Our mission is to promote, advocate for, and secure access to mental healthcare for individuals returning from incarceration. We address the trauma of imprisonment, the emotional weight of reentry, and the barriers that prevent people from rebuilding their lives. FROM EXPERIENCES exists to help individuals reconnect—to themselves, to others, and to the communities they return to—so they can move forward with purpose and a renewed sense of belonging.
Our approach combines mental health support, accountability, education, and community involvement to help individuals create a healthier path forward after incarceration. Unlike many traditional reentry into the community programs, FROM EXPERIENCES emphasizes emotional healing, trauma awareness, and peer connection as essential parts of successful reintegration. Participants are encouraged to develop healthy routines, strengthen communication skills, and build confidence as they prepare for long-term stability

Our programs provide guidance, resources, and a supportive network that empowers individuals to navigate the complexities of daily life after incarceration. By fostering resilience, self-confidence, and meaningful connections, we help participants rediscover their strengths and envision a path forward. Every step we take is designed to create opportunities for growth, stability, and long-term fulfillment.
Our 90-day residential reentry program provides a structured environment where participants can focus on healing, personal growth, and preparing for life after incarceration. We work with individuals throughout Milwaukee and surrounding Wisconsin communities who are seeking support, stability, and guidance during the reentry process.
A 90-day reentry program for stability and mental wellness
FROM EXPERIENCES offers a 12-week (90-day) residential program designed to provide the structure, support, and mental health resources individuals need as they transition back into society. Participants receive:
- Safe and stable housing
- Home-cooked meals
- Group counseling sessions
- One-on-one therapy and mental health services
- A 12-module curriculum focused on healing, growth, and personal development
Our goal is to walk alongside formally incarcerated individuals as they recover from incarceration, rebuild self-worth, and reintegrate into the community with confidence.
